HTT-800 is a multifunctional tribometer designed to perform static friction and sliding wear tests up to max 800°C. Linear reciprocating pin-on-flat geometry is adopted in this tribometer. HTT-800 is provided with electrically-heated furnace to increase temperature of the tribological contact to max 800°C.
HTT-800 is equipped with two linear actuators: an electromechanical loading actuator and a magnetic friction actuator. Both actuators are controlled by servo-drives enabling different control schemes: force control, position control and force rate control.
HTT-800 allows accurate measurements of static friction using two different approaches: force control and speed control. In the first, a gradually increasing lateral force is applied until the breakaway between the two bodies. In the second, a gradually increasing speed is applied while measuring the friction force.
HTT-800 is controlled through a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system including a touch screen located on the front panel. Test data and machine status are continuously displayed on the touch screen during testing and saved to disk at a pre-programmed frequency.
